" One hundred years ago, one would have been hard put to count all the folk kilns producing wares for local use throughout Japan. Today's folk kilns are nowhere as numerous and wares produced as such kilns drawn upon the vigor of the individual traditions, displaying an honest utility and diversity of form, decoration and technique. This volume surveys the areas of Japan not covered by the first folk kiln volume - Kyushu, Shikoku and Okinawa. " [845]; Folio 13" - 23" tall
