Ex-library with mylar cover, brown liner and usual stamps & stickers - wear is light overall, light soiling, small tear bottom corner. Some sticker residue on cover. Interior pages clean & tight, couple light spots seen and one or two earmarks. Colour illustrations at each chapter beginning. 88 pages.Stephen Scobie was born on New Year's Eve, 1943 in Carnoustie, Scotland. He began publishing poetry in the mid-sixties. He won the Governor General's Award for poetry in 1980 with McAlmon's Chinese Opera. Scobie taught at the University of Victoria, and some of his critical essays can be found in Signature, Event, Cantext, which is influenced by the theoretical writings of Jacques Derrida. Scobie has also authored a book length study of bpNichol. Scobie's wide-ranging interests include Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, cubism, concrete poetry, and he has collaborated with Douglas Barbour to produce texts and sound poems. With Shirley Neuman, Scobie and Barbour established Longspoon Press in the early 1980s. Scobie was elected to the Royal Society of Canada in 1995. ; 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall Price:
