General Shipping Information:
As of Jan. 14th, 2013 - surface mail shipping to the U.S. is no longer available.
The Free Shipping special applies to most of our regular inventory. Due to increasing postal costs, there will be a discretionary weight limit of 3 kilos (or approx. 6.6 lbs) on the free offer. If your order is very heavy, we will contact you to let you know extra postage will be required.
If your purchases meet the required amount (to the U.S. or Canada) and you would like to use the Free Shipping option, you will be able to choose this option when checking out.
Please Note for Remote Areas: With regard to parcels going to Nunavut and far remote areas of Canada: As shipping to these areas is far more expensive, the free shipping option will not apply. We will, however, reduce your actual shipping cost by half if you have purchased $85.00 or more.
All items ship from Canada via Canada Post. Insurance is included on all parcel options in Canada and on Tracked Packet, Xpresspost and Expedited parcels to the U.S.. Some smaller, lighter items can be mailed oversize lettermail.
NOTE: shipping calculator may not always be correct for purchasing multiple items. I will calculate this after purchase and if I can give you a better rate, I will refund the difference. If you live in a remote area, extra postage may be required.
Shipping Calculation
This site uses shopping cart software, which while being quite handy, is not terribly smart. It bases your shipping costs on the number of items bought, whereas the post office bases the cost on the weight of the parcel. It also can't differentiate between a small paperback & a large hardcover book.
The default shipping costs set for different countries are based on a medium sized book up to 500 grams (or approx. 18 oz.) Your actual shipping cost may vary. If your book is small or lighter than average, I will reduce your shipping, or refund a portion of it if you've already made payment. If you're purchasing a heavier book (over 500 grams), or book set, I will be contacting you to let you know that additional shipping charges will apply.
Please feel free to contact me for an estimate on one or more items. I can also invoice you directly if you prefer, so that you get correct shipping costs immediately.
